Did you know that Krista Stump was on K-Love (nationally syndicated) yesterday talking about Greenville Grace?
By being the 10th caller, she won three CDs and entered our church in this.

We are asking all people who would still like to be in a LIFE Group to fill out a card in the narthex. If you are not sure about our LIFE Groups or would like more information, you can grab a booklet in the narthex as well.

Car Winterizing - Saturday, November 1, 10:00 – 4:00
This Saturday, we have the opportunity as a church to serve our community by helping them get their cars ready for the winter months. However, we also want to you use this opportunity as an outreach to share more than just news about their cars, but, more importantly, the Good News of Jesus Christ! If you are interested in helping, we are in need of volunteers in many capacities: car savvy people, people to prepare refreshments, and anyone willing to start Gospel-centered conversations. Please sign up at the table if you’re interested.
LOST AND FOUND--As this winter approaches, we've still got "reminders" from last winter around our building. Please take time to check the coat racks (just beyond the restrooms) to see if you've left a coat, jacket or other item of clothing. You'll also notice a number of Bibles and books on the shelf above the coat rack. If you have left your Bible behind some week, you'll probably find it there!
Weekend to Remember -The “Weekend to Remember” will be coming to Columbus December 12-14. If you would like more information, there are brochures on the table in the narthex, or see Dan or Jeni Berger.

If you are interested, you need to contact Pastor Steve (547.0009) ASAP, since the class begins in mid-October.

Using biblestudytools.com
Question 6 in this week's LIFEgroup Questions asks you to use a greek tool to find the link between 2 John 10-11 and 1 Corinthians 13:6.
Several have asked me to demonstrate how to use the site, so I'm going to give it a shot on this blog. (Click on the pictures to see them larger.)
1. Log on to biblestudytools.com and type in 2 John 1:10-11 under "search"
2. Select a translation (NAS or KJV with Strong's Words if you want to do Greek work), and then hit "find" next to the translation box.
3. Click an underlined word to see its "Strong's page"
4. From this page, you can see the definition, other english words used for translation and see how many times the book is used in each book of the Bible. (Clicking a book will show you all the verses in that book.)
5. The highlighted word will show you how the greek word is used in other passages.
To some, tracing a word back to the greek could seem like a waste of time. While our translations are trustworthy, doing such work can help open the text up further and give you a better ability to understand the author's original intent. (LIFEgroup spoiler alert: Doesn't knowing the same word John uses for "greeting" is also translated "rejoice" give you a better idea what John meant?)
