Announcements for Dec. 1-7

Question/Answer Sunday School--On December 14th, we will have another Question and Answer Sunday School. IF you’ve had a burning question you’d like an elder to tackle, simply write the question on the tear-off portion of the bulletin and place it in the offering plate.

Biblical Counseling--Would you like to be better prepared to give brothers/sisters in Christ Biblically sound advice? Would you like to search the Scriptures to help you weed out all the noise from a secular society? Would you like to grow in the knowledge of the Scriptures and gain the wisdom to see how it impacts your daily living? Steve Short at Beamsville Christian Church is offering an excellent class on Biblical Counseling. The class will meet every other Thursday evening, starting January 22nd. If you are interested, grab a brochure off the wooden table. Scholarships are available from our church to help offset cost. (Contact the church office if interested.)

Lifegroup Study--Most LIFEGroups “shut down” for the Christmas season, but this definitely doesn’t mean you should take a break from the Word. Each week in December, we’ll post some questions you can look over and passages to read that will help prepare you for Sunday mornings and keep you growing in the Word. Also, if you have not yet joined a LIFEGroup, signing up now would be perfect timing. You could jump right into a group at the first of the year and pick up with a new study. LIFEGroups meet any night of the week (except Monday and Saturday), so they are sure to fit your schedule. Simply write a note on the tear off portion of the bulletin and let us know you are interested in joining a LIFEGroup and what night you are available.

Weekend to Remember -The “Weekend to Remember” will be coming to Columbus December 12-14. If you would like more information, there are brochures on the table in the narthex, or see Dan or Jeni Berger.

40milesNorth Concert--Join us for a Christmas concert on December 7th @ 7pm. Jeremiah and Marcie Olson will be providing our church with a concert from their “Incarnation Tour” to celebrate this wonderful season. You won’t want to miss it!

Baptism--A few people have expressed their interest in obeying the Lord through water baptism. If you have trusted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior but have not followed through with water baptism, please contact the office to set up an appointment.

Elder Leadership--As we mentioned in Sunday School about a month ago, the Scripture does not teach a distinction between elder and pastor. Therefore, it is our desire as elders to serve the church body as a team of pastors. Also, we realize that having two pastors (Jason Bradshaw & Matt Strader) who are not considered elders is probably inconsistent too. In order to be more Biblically consistent, we are presenting Matt and Jason before the church for “elder review.” Please examine 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 in light of their lives. Then, speak to an elder about their shepherding.

Wayne Industries--We are thankful for the opportunity to serve Wayne Industries during a construction project. As Wayne Industries undergoes a brief construction project, they will be using our facilities during weekdays. We’re thankful to be able to serve our community through this opportunity.

Clothing drive for HEAD START kids: If you’re looking for ways to serve this Holiday season, this may be for you. There are a few kids at Head start that have some very basic clothing needs. Anything from underwear, to socks, to winter coats… they need it all. If you’re interested in donating these items, please see the sign-up sheets at the table in the Narthex

SHAKE Postal Service: It’s that time of year again to start thinking about Christmas cards. Why not let the youth group help you deliver them? For a simple recommended donation of $5, we’ll deliver your cards for you (to anyone in the church body). This way, you can support the youth group, and save on postage at the same time!!! Look for a table in the Narthex for a drop off within the next few weeks.
